No. 154/620 sets for Great Britain signed by the author, there being also 1050 sets for America, though issued in an inferior cloth binding. The whole edition revised by Wells & with new prefaces, printed directly from type on specially made pure rag deckle-edge paper bearing the watermark H.G.W., some volumes still unopened. Octavo (23 x 16.5cm). Frontispiece in photogravure to each volume. Publisher's red buckram, gilt, the board edges bevelled, teg. A handsome set, without the usual fading to spines often found with this set, some occasional light marks to the cloth. With the contemporary engraved bookplate(s) of Lord Leverhulme. Vg.
