?London, Printed for J. Walker, Darton & Harvey (and 15 others listed) ? 1806?. Smaller format 8.5? x 5.5?. Most of the maps are engraved by William Darton; map #25 engraved by J. Luffman. Interior has some soiling, finger smudges and age toning throughout. All twenty-five hand coloured maps are present, most are two-pager?s, some with additional fold-outs. All are firmly attached with occasional very short vertical split to the foot. Map of Scotland has 5cm vertical split to the foot. Contemporary initials J.T.H.P (?) with date 1810 in ink to the verso of the front board, same neat initials and the name ?Pitcher, 1810? in ink to the rear pastedown. Very faint line in pencil (might be faded ink) through map #22 East Indies, with India, neatly jotted beside it in the Table of Contents. Jotted in pencil to the gutter is ?indecipherable word Master Binders? to the verso of the Southern Part of Russia in Europe map. Three-quarter red leather with gilt rules over marbled boards. Bumped and rubbed to extremities, corners are well rubbed with areas of loss, 2.5cm splits along spine edges to the head and tail, boards are firmly attached, spine is rubbed and chipped with an area of loss to the foot of the spine. Marbled boards are moderately rubbed. Small rectangular paper label pasted to front board is in very nice condition, ?Walker?s Geography Nine Shillings? in sharp black ink. Scarce in any condition.
