To Neville Braybrooke, in response to a request for a contribution of juvenilia for Braybrooke's writing project on the subject - 35 years in the making and eventually published as Seeds in the Wind: 20th Century Juvenilia (Hutchinson, London) in 1989: " . . . my first book of poems, `Aquarium' (Duckworth, 1923) contains several poems which appeared originally in `The Eton Candle' when I was seventeen or younger but I only possess a single copy with which I am reluctant to part. They are certainly juvenilia: but I am now approaching 81." Folded twice and excellent in original mailing envelope. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 19632

Zustand: Very Good. First edition thus. 16mo, folded facsimile letter in a printed portfolio pocket. In 1798, Wolcott had an unfulfilled contract for necessary muskets. He signed a new "contract with inventor Eli Whitney, who by ingenuity alone, proposed to deliver ten thousand stand of muskets in 28 months - a bold proposal in an era when precision production was still a handicraft. Reproduced here is Whitney's letter . stipulating the conditions of the contract and demonstrating the daring and confidence of the man who was to change the course of American industry."
