Estimated date of edition : 1965/66. Blue eps with open-winged ladybird motif; ffep with this motif recto, blank verso, followed immediately by title page, which is effectively page 3. Pages numbered to 50, final picture being recto of rear ep. Some light staining and waviness to fore-edges, lessening considerably after first few pp. No marks or inscriptions throughout. Buff boards with dark blue decoration/titles. Title running from bottom to top (reverse on d/w). A little light bumping, but bright and clean. Dustwrapper has closed wing ladybird motif to rear panel, which has a faded area and some scruffy marks, not breaking surface. Front is considerably less obviously marked - predominantly clean and bright. Spine has rubbing and minor nicks/losses, as do edges and corners, but is otherwise intact, with clear bright titles and ladybird motif at top. Not price-clipped (2/6 NET) Titles to rear flap list numbers 2 to 8, this being 5 in Series 497. Not a pristine copy of Beaky, but considerably better than most to be found.
