124pp. Small quarto [24 cm] 1/2 black cloth over blue striped paper covered boards. The title is stamped in gilt on the backstrip. The extremities are mildly bumped, rubbed, and faded. The boards are just a little bit warped, and the underlying boards are exposed occasionally along the edges. There is a prominent ding along the fore edge of the front cover. The front endsheet has a previous owner's bookplate, and a brief contemporary notation. The edges of the dust jacket are torn, with multiple small losses. Includes sixteen black and white illustrations by John Vassos. John Vassos was a 1930's book illustrator and long-term industrial designer. Early printing of the edition illustrated by John Vassos.
