On November 29, 2012 we had the first of what will hopefully be many Barstool Poetry gatherings. This one was at Star Bar in Austin. These are the poems that were written that night. The concept: 1. Grab a napkin & pen. 2. Jot down a poem title. 3. Pass pen & napkin to a friend. "Write a poem to fit this title!" 4. Repeat again and again. 5. Let the good times roll.

About the Author: BOB MAKELA has been writing professionally for nearly 3 decades. He’s been paid to write articles, screenplays, sitcom scripts, internet shows, blog posts, newspaper columns and a book about a trip he took barhopping around the U.S. for 100 days in his VW bus. He published his first book in 2006 called Poetry For People Who Don’t Read Poetry. In 2012 he published the anthology Barstool Poetry (The Early Years: 1992-2000). His next anthology, Barstool Poetry (The Best of Austin: 2013), will be published in November 2013. Makela is currently writing a book about the 500-mile walk he took across Spain in the summer of 2013. There’s a chance he might also be found driving a cab in Austin, TX.
