Tight and square first edition bound in chartreuse cloth with black title on spine, and blue title with multi-color illustration on front cover. All corners are worn and frayed, with a 1/4" closed tear at bottom joint of front cover. A school stamp on ffep, but no other markings. Interior is clean and securely bound. The reader, "you," and an adult friend, "I," explore a beach during the early morning, squatting, peering, and then returning to the cottage for breakfast. Illustrations by Weisgard, who authored over a dozen children's books and illustrated over 200, winning the Caldecott and many other graphics awards. These wonderful full-page, full-color and B&W images are a showcase for his art. 47 pages.
