Inhaltsangabe:

"Add an exquisite touch to your work! A sequel to the best-selling book, The Beaded Edge, this guide teaches beaders and crocheteres alike how to add personal touches to a wide variety of fabric projects using gorgeous edges and embellishments. The Beaded Edge 2 explores Traditional Turkish oya, the delicate edgings for fabric--created using thread, knots, and beads. Designer Midori Nishida was fascinated by these edgings, and created a series of them based on traditional motifs of flowers, fruit, leaves and vines, and geometric designs such as scallops or stars. Step-by-step instructions for 18 edgings comprise the book, along with inspirational photos showing their use as trims for clothing, accessories, and home furnishing: everything from dresses, collars, pockets, cuffs, and hems; handbags, scarves, hats, and jewelry; and pillows, tablecloths, desk accessories, and kitchen linens. A section also discusses the history and traditions of Turkish oya. The Beaded Edge 2 combines rich Turkish traditions with diverse and captivating designs that you'll be proud to place on your pillow or around your wrist. "--

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor:

Midori Nishida is a professional craft artist. Deeply moved and inspired by the "Turkish Embroideries and Oya Exhibition," she endeavored to create her own line of crafts and introduced Boncuk oya to Japan, adapting it into a more accessible form for crafters. She has continued to study and perfect the art of "beaded edgings" with CRK design, and has built a massive base of loyal fans both in and outside of Japan. She is also the coauthor of The Beaded Edge (Interweave, 2011).

CRK design is a design firm made up of six graphic designers. Their first craft magazine design project opened the door to their career in craft making and design. Today, they do everything from designing and production to book designing. They are also the coauthors of The Beaded Edge (Interweave, 2011) and are based in Japan.
