First printing of Fitzgerald's second novel. Meets points for first printing: no Scribner seal on copyright page, and lacking advertising material at rear of volume. "The Beautiful and Damned" is considered semi-autobiographical, with its wealthy, sophisticated characters and their complicated interactions. It preceded his famous "The Great Gatsby". --- In dark green linen-finish cloth-covered boards with titling blindstamped on cover, in gilt on spine. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- With Columbus, Ohio bookseller label to front paste-down, a one-inch tear to top of rear joint cloth, mild bumps to cover corners along with a little wear to extremities of cloth, and whitish soiling to small area of back cover, otherwise a firmly-bound, clean copy.; Small Octavo (7-1/2 to 8 in. tall) ; (10), 449 pages.
