Learn the basic math and physics concept: required to program your own games! If you want to break into the game industry and are familiar with algebra, geometry, and trigonometry but your knowledge is a bit rusty, this book is for you. Author Wendy Stahler shows you the fundamental math and physics concepts, principles, and formulas that are crucial to developing successful games. Topics such as trigonometry snippets, vector and matrix operations, transformations, momentum and collisions, and 1D/2D/3D motion are taught in a step-by-step format in order to improve your level of game development. Beginning Math and Physics for Game Programmers provides: The foundation you need to tackle advanced topics in realistic 3D simulation; Key formulas you need to develop your 3D games; C++ examples sprinkled throughout the book that show you how to implement concepts that are crucial to anyone learning how to program games; Visualization Experience sections that walk you through demos on the CD showing the chapter's content in use; Exercises included in each section with an answer key at the end of each chapter.
Wendy Stahler was the first course director of the Game Design and Development Program at Full Sail Real World Education in Orlando, Florida.
