Slight shelf wear, with slight bumping on the corners. The boards are very well preserved, with little to no fading or sunning. A very small stain on the bottom fore-edge. A previous owner left his signature on the front endpaper, along with "Oxford, 1951" in ink. The text is toned but clean, complete and legible. Some offsetting on the front and rear endpapers. The gilt lettering on the spine is clean and legible. The binding is sound. This book will be of interest to anybody interested in the history of England, especially during the early modern era.
