Relatively scarce original editions and sold despite condition, as is. 16mo, 6 1/2" tall, both with folding frontispieces; 1: frontispiece (in color) + vii + 361 pages; 2: frontispiece B&W (Miseries personified) + vi + 292 pages + 12 pages of publisher's ads; three-quarter leather over marbled boards. A good set only, interiors very good, clean, internal bindings solid and neat, paper moderately yellowed on vol. 1 with very little scattered foxing except at the fore-edges; paper only lightly yellowed in vol. 2 which includes a bit more scattered foxing; vol. 2 has an addition folding theatre playbill bound in and this is on cheaper paper and more foxed, as well as a partial page woodcut of a collapsed umbrella, a handwriting, a man doing a stretching exercise upon rising, a hand with a nutcracker, etc. BUT hardcovers are significantly worn, hinges broken or cracked, front cover of vol 1 loose, spine leather badly chipped, fore-corner tips worn through to boards with front endpaper reading 'H.
