Douglas Niles is an award-winning designer of military and historical simulations and the author of more than 40 novels including The Crown and the Sword, Lord of the Rose, and The Measure and the Truth. He has designed numerous military simulations with an emphasis on World War II, and has contributed many articles to historical anthologies. He lives in Delavan, Wisconsin. Helmut and Charlotte Jacobitz now live in Los Angeles.
