A catalogue of James Russell Lowell first editions in the collection of Jacob Chester Chamberlain (1860-1905), a member of the Grolier Club for about three years until his death. Most of the entries are accompanied by detailed notes. In addition to Lowell, Chamberlain also formed major collections of the first editions of Longfellow, Hawthorne, Emerson, Bryant, Whittier, and other major American writers. His Hawthorne collection was exhibited at the Grolier Club in 1904, and his collections were dispersed at a two-day auction by Anderson in February 1909. This is the second of two titles in the Chamberlain Bibliographies series, the first covering first editions of Longfellow. Number 209 of 500 copies printed by the De Vinne Press.
