A very good copy of the enlarged second edition of the first bibliography of the history and topography of France. The first edition was published in 1618 without mentioning the author's name. The book is divided into two parts: in the first general works are described arranged chronologically; the second part includes the history and topography of provinces and cities. André Du Chesne or Duchesne (1584-1640) was a French geographer and historian, generally styled the father of French history. He was a very prolific writer. In addition to numerous works on history and genealogy, Duchesne left behind more than 100 folio volumes of manuscript extracts now preserved in the Bibliothèque Nationale. = Vélin rigide à recouvrements, dos lisse, titre manuscrit, traces de lacets (Reliure de l'époque).
