Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. pp.lvi 235 with contemporary sepia photograph of Lord Macaulay mounted on the frontis. All edges of pageblock are marbled and the book has its original red marbled endpapers. Full leather binding with five raised bands on spine. The leather title label is missing from the spine although the stamped impression can be seen. Front board has a round gilded stamp of "The Manchester Commercial Schools+Founded. A.D.1845" and on the back cover "Midsummer 1861" stamped in gilt. There is some light wear to head and foot of spine, corners and edges. Otherwise a very good solid copy.
