The May Bloossom; Or the Princess and Her People. From Original Illustrations by H.H. Emerson. With Verses by Marion M. Wingrave. 1881, 64 pp, 10 x 8.25 , 8vo, hardcover original boards. In good rebacked condition, with spine and hinges restored and reinforced. Minor rubbing and wear to boards, primarily along edges and corners. Text block remains nicely bound. Beautifully illustrated throughout. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scare and beautiful example of Victorian literature, with illustrations by noted British painter and book illustrator Henry Hetherington Emmerson (1831-1895).
