47, [1] pp. plus 13 plates, illustrated, card wrapper, dustjacket. Line diagrams printed in black and red. The Swedish translation of German calligrapher and type and book designer Jan Tschichold's work on book formats and proportions, published in Germany the same year (but never translated into English). This copy is INSCRIBED and dated (18 Sep 1955) on the front blank by Tschichold to Dutch type and book designer and engraver Samuel Louis ("Sem") Hartz (1912-1995). Laid in is a small sheet with manuscript ink sketches of rectangles and their dimensions. An uncommon Tschichold work. Very good copy; text pages fine, last few leaves foxed, scattered mild foxing to other plate leaves; a touch of toning to the wrapper edges. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 4560
