a 7 X 9.5 inch book bound in leather cover boards with columned spine and gold gilt decoration, contents of book is divided into 30 sections of unnumbered pages with kalendars and charts, per inscription dated 1779 this book was gifted by Mary Riland of Sutton to Maria Riland of Birmingham, a bookplate bearing the Riland coat of arms has been applied inside rear cover board, the Riland (Ryland) family are of some note in England and around 1670 William Randolph of Warwickshire son of Elizabeth (Ryland) Randolph emigrated to the British colony of Virginia raising a family on Turkey Island with descendants including Thomas Jefferson & Robert E. Lee, there is also the bookplate of R.G. Harries applied inside the front cover board, gold gilt to all 3 page decks, cover boards are tenderly held in place by clear tape.
