Über Booqshop

Booqshop (resume) My Grandfather, [R.A.Hylton (Tony)] started a Book Finding Service in the 1990s, called Liverpoolbooqshop, specialising in Out of Print Books . The main purpose of the Book Finding Service was to source Student books that were relevant to his sons & daughters University Course work (recommended reading etc). He realised that it was very difficult (and expensive) to obtain some recommended Reading books. However, in the 1990s, Liverpool Charity Shops were full of student Coursework books that were discarded by successful graduates who kindly (& responsibly) donated their unwanted literature to the abundance of Charity shops that sprung up on every high street. He therefore used the method used within the Book Trade to search/ sell, Titles he needed. Eventually he became friendly with the Local 2nd hand Bookstore owners in and around Liverpool, which led him to become a regular Trader in the Book dealing Magazine of the day BOOKDEALER, [ A monthly magazine for books, news and reviews Published by Rare Books and Berry ] . Unfortunately, with the advent of a Up and Coming Second Hand Book Business called AMAZON, in the 1990s the need for the Trade Magazine became somewhat obsolete and the last edition of BOOKDEALER was printed in 2010. My Granddad and I decided that his book collection, (some 500 books) be 'sold off', thus, we are now listing (our) 'collection' on this Abe Web-site we hope you find something to 'enhance' your collection, at reasonable prices. I intend to continue my Grandads ethos of recycling Modern First Editions that need a new and appreciative home. Hence BOOQSHOP , [my grandad, called his hobby the LiverpoolBooqshop. -quirky, but memorable] SARAH CARR HYLTON / TONY HYLTON Our books are categorised using the standard abbreviations M Mint (as new) F Fine (almost new). VG Very Good (showing only minor signs of use). G. - Good (well used). P Poor (text complete, otherwise defective; a reading copy only) When listing books that contain a Dustjacket/wrapper the book shall be categorised as the first.
