George Bradshaw first introduced his innovative International Air Guide in 1934 and would continue to update it monthly until the outbreak of World War II in 1939. This is a lovely example of the 13th edition, published in November of 1935. The 192-page guidebook contains a fascinating variety of contemporary advertisements, information for air travelers, and dozens of pages of timetables that cover nearly 270 different routes around the globe. It includes a double-sided folding map that showcases the air routes across Europe (recto), the United Kingdom (verso), and the world (verso). Each pathway is highlighted in red and numbered, corresponding to the appropriate timetable in the guidebook. National borders are also identified, though the image fails to reflect the updated borders of Germany after the successful referendum in the Saarland.
