An anthology of poetry produced as a bridal souvenir. The work was produced for the marriage of Mr and Mrs Harold Robert Bell. Their marriage was at Penang on December 1st 1910. The marriage was between Miss Alice Moxon and Mr Harold R Bell. The work begins with three poems by Edward Lamlough dedicated to, in turn, the Bride, Groom, and the Mother and Father of the bride. Other poets whose works are included are Ballentine, Robert Bloomfield, Alfred Austin, S T Coleridge, William Cowper, Andrew Lang, David Gray and Leigh Hunt. A wonderful anthology, produced to be a gift on this joining in matrimony. Gift inscription to recto of front endpaper indicates this gift was passed from the bride, Alice, to her son Peter in 1969. In a full diced calf binding with gilt stamping to the spine and board edges. Externally, rubbed to the joints and to the head and tail of spine. Small loss to the bottom of front board. Gift inscription to recto of front endpaper, 'Peter Bell from his Mother, 1969, Alice Bell'. Internally, firmly bound. pages are slightly age toned to edges.
