I was told by my beautiful firstborn child’s first grade teacher that she “couldn’t learn”. My daughter? Not able to learn? She was then tested by psychologists and conventional doctors and was prescribed Ritalin for ADHD. I cringed every morning when I coerced her into taking a drug I didn’t feel was necessary or safe. I scoured the state and could only find one medical doctor practicing alternative treatments in Indiana. We spent an hour discussing my daughter’s symptoms and he performed non-traditional tests on her. As it turned out, she was malnourished! I couldn’t believe it! The alternative doctor said the tests confirmed that my seven year old daughter had the digestion and absorption of an 80 year old! The doctor recommended I eliminate dairy, wheat, sugar, and processed foods from her diet. I didn’t know what we were going to eat. But I implemented the changes and gradually saw improvements. I was thrilled when during her second grade year she achieved three years of academic gain! It worked! This was my first step on my journey back to vitality. Researcher that I am by nature, I continued my journey by reading everything I could get my hands on. I started looking for a support system of people who were already on this radical, unconventional path. In addition to my doctorate, I earned certification as a Certified Health Specialist, Master Herbalist, and a Certified Natural Health Professional and want to share everything I have learned to help everyone Bring Back Their Vitality!
