He came home to settle his father’s estate. He never expected another chance with her.
After a devastating fire leaves him injured and facing the end of his firefighting career, Travis Stone has one priority: keeping life together for his twelve-year-old daughter, Abby. Returning to Canon means dealing with the father he barely knew, a house he never wanted, and memories he’s spent years avoiding.
Then he sees Sophie Ingram.
Fourteen years ago, they loved each other—and wanted different futures. Now Sophie teaches at the local school, fills her evenings with books, and keeps her biggest regret to herself. She thought Travis had built a life without her. She never imagined he would come back single, hurting, and still able to undo her with a look.
The attraction hasn’t faded. Neither have the questions they were too afraid to ask.
As Abby begins to find her place in Canon, Travis glimpses a future he hadn’t thought possible. But he and Sophie have already lost fourteen years to silence. If they want a life together, they’ll have to stop assuming they know why the other walked away.
A steamy small-town romance about first love, single fatherhood, and finding the courage to begin again.
Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Born in Brooklyn, New York, Michael Geraghty relocated to the small town of Monroe, New York, in 1978 and has resided there ever since. He has been writing since childhood, earning a BA in English from SUNY New Paltz and an MA in English from Western Connecticut State University. He spent years working for the West Point Association of Graduates before some life-changing events occurred, changing his outlook on life forever. Luckily, that included finding his way into the world of writing, first with Scarlet Lantern Publishing and then with his own publishing imprint, Hold Fast Publishing. He has since published twelve books, all of which are contemporary, small-town romances that reflect his strong views of family, friendship, humor, faith, and relationships. Michael lives happily with his wife of over thirty years, Michelle, in Harriman, New York, and his beloved King Charles Cavalier, Chester, and has a son, Sean.
