Part I, edited by Muir Dawson and Carey S. Bliss, describes 30 books from the years 1833-1890. Part II, edited by Bruce L. Johnson and Robert D. Harlan, describes 23 books produced during the years 1890-1925. Part III, edited by Sandra Kirshenbaum and Kenneth Karmiole, describes 30 books that appeared in the years 1925-1975. All three parts give detailed description and commentary on the books included as well as many reproductions. Part III contains an index to the whole. Spines slightly faded.
