This project of the Royal Society was to record rapid changes in landscape, climate & botany in that lush area, & to collect rare & unusual plants. Ward's course was through Yunnan, Kinkiangkai, Yungning, Likiang, Atuntze, Nonghkai, down to Myitkyina. Traveling through the Tibetan tribal areas and mountains into Burma, fording the Mekong and Yangtze rivers, ending in 1923. . One of the author's earliest and most scarce titles.
