Decorative gilt-embossed covers, extremities worn, cocorners frayed, outer hinges splitting but barely separating, front inner hinge neatly reinforced, contents G. Could be restored saving the decorative binding. Translated from the French by Thomas Johnes, with an original introductory essay on the character and society of the Middle Ages, by Rev. John Lord. The author, (ca 1337-ca 1410), was an historian and poet. The chronicles are a contemporaneous account of events in England and France during the Hundred Years War, and include many particulars relating to the affairs of Italy, Spain, and Germany, as well.
