First and only edition. This copy first owned by Richard Henderson (his name written on t.p. and 5 later pages): probably the lawyer-son of the Rd. Henderson whose Transylvania Company built Boonesborough in 1775. -- [ii]-lxvi, 507 [sc. 517: page nos. 86-93 and 189-190 repeated], pp. 16mo. Bound in 20th-century half-calf over marbled boards, with raised bands on gilt-lettered spine. Printed by William Hunter, Printer to the Commonwealth, Frankfort, 1802. Some water stains on first few pages. Lower corners of last 2 pages worn away. In all, a Very Good copy for its age. -- Toulmin's aim was to remedy the "very confused and undigested state in which the acts of the Legislature of Kentucky have hitherto remained", by organizing them into a "variety of classes", and omitting all laws of a private or local nature. Following a "Table of Technical Phrases" and a "Summary of Criminal Law", the volume is divided into 14 parts, which include boundaries, public officers, the General Assembly, public revenue, land titles, courts of justice, "agriculture, manufactures, navigation and commerce", the "promotion of knowledge", and others. -- Ky. Imprints, no. 157. Sabin 37533. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Buchnummer des Verkäufers 002392
