A little wear to extremities, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 12 pages of plates, including colour frontispiece and 10 numbered in text and by 3 numbered sequences of text figures totalling over 1050 images. Decorated by title page vignette. A reference book of plant engravings taken from sixteenth century engravings and arranged for use in decoration and design. Richard George Hatton (1864-1926), handicraft artist and writer on design taught modelling in Birmingham before moving to Newcastle upon Tyne in 1891 to lecture at the Handicrafts Company.
