A very scarce work on the Caithness people that deals with their place names, their words and phrases and how early Norse and Gaelic words were replaced with Scottish terms though some of the earlier words were still current in the early 20th century. Tipped-in is a note of the reversal of pages 46 and 47 by the original binder. Bound in blue cloth over flexible heavy card, lettered and decorated in black. A few ripples to cloth. A good copy.
