Date: April 11, 1791 This 200+ year old Scottish newspaper measures 13" wide x 18.5" long. It was printed as a large sheet (twice the measurement listed) and folded to form a four page newspaper. Of interest is an advertisement on the front page for a "Circus for the Benefit of Mr. Ricketts" which was to include "Surprising Feats of Horesemanship," "Mrs. Parker will ride upon two horses," "Battle of the Canabals which finishes with ground and loft tumbling," "Mr. Ricketts will throw a somerset over ten horses without the aassistance of a spring board," etc. The paper includes news of the world, news of Scotland and news of Great Britain, advertisements, business & banking news, deaths, Parliamentary news, ships ready to sail, houses, farms and land for let, etc. Tax stamp on lower corner in red for a half penny. Founded in 1720, this paper was issued three times per week. Issues may have some folds and creasing with ragged edges, but all generally legible and free of significant foxing. ; single sheet.
