Though dated 1884 on the title page, the books listed in our example's endsheet would date it to 1885, though of course they could be 'upcoming' titles - Holt first editions of the period are difficult to identify. One of the publisher's Leisure Hours Series, "works whose character is light and entertaining, though not trivial.not.unworthy of a place on the library shelves." Small hardcover, as pictured. Book shows some wear & rubbing, corners bumped, paper lightly tanned.
