Good. Contemporaneous half calf and marbled boards. Joints largely cracked but boards solidly strung. Lightly foxed. Name neatly penned to corner of first text leaf. Small closed tear to one leaf and small nick missing from another (both to blank margin only). 117pp, [3]. Presumed 2nd edition. Title continues. 'An invariable rule for the beginnings and endings of the Cambridge terms; and other useful notes relative to the univeristy. To which is added, an exact account of the several posts, coaches, flys, stage-waggons, and other carriers. Illustrated with several neat views of public buildings, and a very accurate plan of the university and tower.' Illustrated with fold-out frontis' map and 10 engraved plates showing the various grand buildings of the University. Provenance: From the deceased estate of The Hermitage, Hexham, Northumberland, sold at auction in June 2013 by Anderson and Garland Auctioneers. The Hermitage is a stately home which was occupied by the same family for more than 200 years, during which time the family amassed a wealth of choice antiquities.
