The second edition, and the first edition with colour illustrations. In the original unclipped dust wrapper.'Captain Slaughterboard Drops Anchor' follows the titular captain and his crew abroad the Black Tiger, as they capture a small humanoid known in the tale as the Yellow Creature.Written and illustrated by Mervyn Peake, an English author who is best known today for his 'Gormenghast' books. This edition is illustrated throughout in a bright yellow in Peake's iconic style. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. A couple of light marks to the boards, including a small damp stain to the tail. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Edge wear to the dust wrapper resulting in small chips and closed tears, chips heavier to the head and tail of the spine, with some tape repairs to the reverse. Wraps are a little age-toned with light handling marks. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Aged tape repairs to closed tears to a few pages, including the title page, and unrepaired closed tears to a few pages. Very Good. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 902P50
