Über den Autor: Tom Stonehouse graduated from Michigan State University in 1952 and joined Case in March of 1953 as a technical writer and service training instructor in the Service Department at Racine. During his years with Case he was Director of Technical Publication for Case and Case IH products worldwide.
Mr. Stonehouse was responsible for developing many of the firsts in Case Service Manuals, such as: the how it works concept in the 1960s and 70s to aid service technicians in diagnosis; the step-by-step picture Service Manual to minimize confusion and reading time on repairs, and the sectional manual for ease of revision. He was also responsible for developing th Clear and Simple English (C.A.S.E.) dictionary to establish common terms for writers and translators, established a television production facility to produce training programs.
When he retired from Case in 1990, Mr. Stonehouse was responsible for the technical publications covering products built by and for Case in Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Japan, and Korea in as many as 13 different languages for one product.
Eldon Brumbaugh joined Case in May 1953 as a field test engineer at the Phoenix, Arizona proving grounds. During his years with Case, he was director of corporate engineering, and was responsible for the J.I. Case proving grounds, design center, and product safety ad engineering standards. Mr. Brumbaugh was responsible for establishing the design criteria and engine requirements for the joint venture with Cummins Engine Company and the J.I. Case Company. When he retired from the J. I. Case Company in 1988, Mr. Brumbaugh was director of J. I. Case product performance and evaluation, with responsibilities for all product testing, product styling, and statuary regulations.
