The author Ramaswami, popularly known as SRR, is an alumni of Indian Institute of Science. He studied Industrial management post his bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst, and currently serves as a Corporate Board Advisor. He has four decades of industry experience, starting as an analyst on a science & technology World Bank state project in India, continuing onto stints in banking operations, manufacturing operations and then full on into business technology, including Financial technology, Retail technology, Government and Internet technology. He has been at the C level portfolio for more than a decade, including CEO, CFO, CRO, CSO, and COO. In the last decade he has been more involved in Thought leadership and Board level operations. His experience spans over technology, global business development, marketing, sales, business strategies, research, risk management, operations and financial control. He has worked on global programs for customers in Wall street, High Street, across all continents, and has been actively involved in commercial adoption of technologies. He has been at the forefront of implementing quality initiatives and flexible manufacturing in many organizations. He has published a series of articles in DQ Week India in 1997, forecasting growth of IT Industry in the Indian technology landscape. He has published articles on Financial Technology, and impact of information technology on financial services in Microsoft's Windows journal (US). He has built a five level model for “Corporate Board Development” and has invented a design for the “Corporate Board Black Box”(patent pending). He has contributed to the review of SEI CMM model release in 1995, recommended induction of a new KRA named “Risk Management”. He has presented in many conferences, recent presentations among them being “The Trillion Dollar Indian IT Dream” and “Emerging models of Board Development”.
