Zschokke was one of the most distinguished public men in Switzerland. He had an extensive civil service career and wrote in many genres. In a half calf binding with marbled paper boards. Externally, rubbed to the boards, with patches of lighter rubbing to the extremities and joints. Spine is faded. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Closed tears to pages 269-272.
