Quarto, [4], 275pp, [4]. Frontispiece portrait. Solid text block, light wear to corners and joints. Foxing to endpapers, occasional foxing throughout. Complete with 30 full-page plates. Bound by Tho. Atkinson of Kendal, with bookseller label on rear endpaper. Fore-edge painting with six English frigates seeking "refuge from John Paul Jones off Flamborough Head."
