Light green cloth. 322pp. Pictorial tan dust jacket with clipped flap. A volume in Macmillan's Children's Classics series. Edited by May McNeer. Illustrated by Lynd Ward. First of this edition with date on title page and single date on copyright page. An early illustrated work by Lynd Ward, edited by his wife. The jacket has two small woodcuts by him and there are ten full-page plates in the text along with some smaller ones. Scarce. A good copy with some light wear to the upper spine and one dented corner. There is a bookplate on the flyleaf else the text is very good and clean. The jacket is worn with some chips and tears along the top edge and two large pieces missing from the upper rear panel and spine bottom as well as a small stain in the upper corner of the front panel.
