Two-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Mel Tormé (1925-99) published more than 250 songs in his lifetime, mostly in collaboration with cowriter and friend Robert Wells (1922-98). Together at the piano and within forty-five minutes, they wrote the music and lyrics to one of the most beloved Christmas songs ever, appropriately titled "The Christmas Song."

Doris Barrette is an award-winning artist who has illustrated more than thirty children's books, including The Christmas Song by Mel Tormé and Robert Wells, Thanks for Thanksgiving by Julie Markes, and The Hockey Card by Jack Siemiatycki and Avi Slodovnick. She lives with her three children in Quebec, Canada.
