Printed for W. Nicoll in 1769. 2 Volumes. The first covers The Great Plague of London in 1665, the second The Great Fire of London in 1666 and The Great Storm of 1703. The work claims to be derived from Harvey s own papers. He was a physician at the Tower of London for fifty years and published several works on disease. The part of the books that is about the storm of 1703 is an adaptation of Defoe's work entitled The Storm. Volume I has an additional title page: An historical narrative of the great plague at London 1665. It has 456 pages. Volume II has two additional title pages, An historical narrative of the great and terrible fire of London, 1666 and An historical narrative of the great and tremendous storm, 1703. It has 232 pages. Both books measure 20.5 x 13 cms or 8 x 5 1/4 inches. They are cloth covered with leather spines and corners, 5 raised bands on the spines and gilt decoration. With smart blue marbled endpapers. Condition: Very Good. The covers of both volumes are worn at the spine and corners such that the bindings would be considered fragile. The front board of the first volume is detached, the label on the spine is missing and the spine is cracked. The text block of both volumes remains tight.
