Hardback, no dust-wrapper. Recently rebound in modern red cloth with gilt lettering to spine. 656pp. This is the 1851 volume XIV. Printed by Thomas Burrows. Illustrated with many b/w figures and complete with 23 plates, mostly folding. Externally very clean in recent rebind, slight wear to spine label. Ex-library with occasional library stamps to page edges and rear of plates. Pages are discoloured with age and splitting to edges, and slightly brittle. Occasional losses, marking or staining to text. Plates generally clean, occasional tears and fraying. A decent copy with excellent detailed figures and plates.
