Public sculptures of Claes Oldenburg, derived from its graphic works, Brand urban and architectural grotesque megacities such as Chicago or New York. Haunted by a mystical, skyscraper, Sullivan to Mies van der Rohe, is a symptom of Oldenburg tragic or grotesque tragicomedy of modernity. With its oversized objects, the pop artist presents the staggering figures of a world out of joint, due to a reversal and a confusion of values ??and engages in a critique of technocracy and mercantilism. It flushes out the sacred relics related to a secret cult of terror in the art and architecture of his time. The Clothespin of Philadelphia, the Bat Baseball Chicago are a parody of nostalgia present in the sacred art of Brancusi, including its famous columns symbolizing endless metaphysical freedom and traditional design of the monument associated with the fantasy of an organic and reconciled community. Anti-monuments burlesque, neo-Dadaist and corrosive Claes Oldenburg are the memory of the historical and social violence in the United States. They offer a liberating desublimate of artistic creation in the wake of Picasso and Duchamp against the false sublime rhetoric of lightning and lightning artists of his time. These large-scale works, ranging from anxiety and euphoria of the grotesque, take the side of the body and imagination, exploit the healing powers of the comic against the sanctification of reason, order and morality that has emerged in the history of abstract art, modernist architecture and the art of engineering. Slight scratching/scuffing on cover. Book has minor shelf wear. Foreign text. Rip along bottom edge of spine. Sold as is. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 74189
