The VG- book has a noticeable lean, a bowed front panel (from spine to fore edge), bumped head and heel of the spine with some color loss, and a half dozen dots of white on the lower spine. The interior has strong hinges, browned paper (see photo)--it has a war time notice of paper conservation--which is still flexible but several corners have broken off due to brittleness. Except for the original owner's inked information on the front paste down, the interior is free of writing,stray marks and stains. The jacket has "X"s on the front flap list of Drew titles and a huge chip out of the heel of the spine (see photo), in addition to several short closed tears and minor chips at corners and the head of the spine.
