Glenn, emeritus professor of communication, University of Delaware, shopped around an ambitious manuscript (29 chapters, 1375pp.) devoted to a systematization and refinement of the concepts of cognitive difference and identity. We're selling a copy of the typescript, the precis (29pp.) and a typescript preprint (51pp.) entitled "A Cognitive Approach to the Analysis of Cultures and Cultural Evolution". All date, in this form, from the mid-1960s. Also included is (1): a letter from a University of Chicago Press editor to Glenn's literary agent declining the offer to inspect the manuscript; (2): a copy of a letter from Glenn to his literary agent regarding the press's turndown. Glenn published quite a few papers in his heyday; to our knowledge the manuscript found no home. Condition: a few staples have been lost along the way but otherwise the typescripts have suffered only very mild soiling, generally to their top pages (chapter starts). Extra shipping will be asked.
