Inhaltsangabe: Bill Jackson preached for the great Southwest congregation in Austin, Texas, 1981-1991. At Southwest, he taught in the school of Biblical Studies located there, and directed the Annual Southwest Lectureship. He also edited the monthly Christian Worker and was host of the weekly television program, "Christian Evidences."
A native of Sheffield, Alabama, Bill began preaching while in the military in 1953, and began regular work in, 1956, preaching in South Carolina, Mississippi, England and Texas, as well as holding 6 to 10 meetings in many states each year. He had twenty-five years experience in radio and television and held sixteen religious debates. He was on the staff of several religious journals and wrote several books in connection with his work. He attended the University of North Alabama, the Navy's Law School, and David Lipscomb College. He graduated from Lipscomb with a degree in Bible and a minor in speech.
His widow is the former Jean Norton, also of Sheffield, Alabama, and they have two sons, Larry and Barry, both of whom work for Texas A&M University.
Since the writing of this commentary on Second Corinthians, our beloved brother William (Bill) Jackson departed this life April 5, 1991.
Another great soldier of the cross has now laid his armor down and gone on to his eternal reward. His race he has run, his crown he has won, and we believe it to be one that shall never fade away.
