Map. Engraving with hand colored outline. Sheet measures 20 3/4" x 13 1/2" This lovely map depicts the province of Florence in the region of Tuscany in northern Italy. Six insets surround the map, showing town plans of Samminiato, Modigliana, Volterra, Pistoja, Prato, and Pescia. Incredibly detailed, the map identifies important cities, rivers, towns, churches, and roads. Topography is beautifully shaded with hachure marks. Blind stamped in the lower left margin. The map is in very good condition with some foxing to margins. This map was engraved by G. Pozzi and issued by G. Pozzi and V. Stanghi in the 1844 edition of "Atlante Geographia dell'Italia.".
