In fair condition. Boards are moderately worn with scuffing and rubbing to extremities. Spine creased with dryness to hinges. Extremes rounded. Gilt finishing tarnished. Armorial bookplate of Francois de Champflour Baron de Laroche on front paste down. Old hand notations dated 1717 on front fly leaf and title page. Interior typically age-torn with some more moderate soiling and light foxing. Personal mementos left inside including a peach silk book marker of the period with a quill test sheet. Free of known markings. Binding intact. Aesthetic issues aside, this remains a sturdy book. Please see photos. A french language work of Saint Augustine of Hippo. Armorial bookplate of Francois de Champflour (d. After 1649) was a soldier and administrator in New France. The rue Champflour in Trois-Rivi�res was named in his honor.
