Stephen H. Sergeant’s new book is an extensive and scripturally supported mixture of biblical commentary and guide to spiritual growth. It places a special emphasis on New Testament concepts and focuses heavily on the character of God and the personhood of Jesus Christ—and what Jesus’s teachings mean for humanity. But at its heart, this book is designed to inspire all those who seek an in-depth understanding of the Christian life and how to live it in the fullness of joy.

Part I, “Love, Faith, and Hope,” focuses heavily on faith—specifically on trusting, obeying, and surrendering to God by faith. Part II, “Separation of Light and Darkness,” speaks to heavier themes of spiritual adultery and the end times. Part III, “Jesus Is the Lord of the Sabbath,” discusses the seventh-day Sabbath and the promise of the “New Earth.”

But one major theme runs throughout Sergeant’s book: we must ask God to fill us with compassion for others, because only then will we find true fulfillment.

Sergeant promises that following Christ will result in more than just spiritual rebirth—it’s the key to a stress-free, healthful life of true joy and contentment.

Stephen H. Sergeant has worked in the automotive industry for fourteen years, but he has been studying the Bible since his early teens. Several decades later, he is still involved in community outreach and youth ministry. Sergeant has been married for more than twenty years and has two young children.
