14 by 9 cms. 215 pp. one engraving, half leather with marbled boards, six panelled spine with raised bands, a small gilt floral motif in each panel, spine relaid, modern spine label, the marbled paper on the boards is modern and very attractive, internally a few pages show old faint water staining, otherwise tight and good. A charming childrens book with 36 stories or plays, which has been professionally restored and is in very good condition.Bertoud, 1747-1791, wrote about events which might actually happen in childrens' lives rather than fantasy or fairy tale. he included plays to allow for family participation.
